Experienced PHP Developer / Project Manager
Contract, Part-Time, or Full-Time Position
We seek an experienced PHP developer to work on various SugarCRM client projects that range from initial system implementations, to custom module development, mash-ups and integration with other web-based systems.
US-based professional preferred. Must be an excellent communicator with native English language skills and be available via Skype for at least 4 hours per day during US business hours when on assignment. Must have a high regard for quality and the ability to propose practical, innovative solutions that solve business requirements with available resources.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Install, implement, and manage development of SugarCRM solutions.
- Work with business analysts to devise programming specifications that address client business needs.
- Develop custom SugarCRM modules, code hooks, and PHP that meet those specifications.
- Recommend areas of opportunities for improvement and implement agreed upon processes.
- Respond to emails and voice mail messages in timely manner. Adjust work schedule to meet the demands of critical client project needs.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Demonstrated track record of dependability
- Deep understanding of PHP development
- Ability to write well-commented, well-structured, robust and reliable code according to DRY and KISS principles.
- Experience with Unix/Linux/MySQL database maintenance and support
- Candidate should ideally have a well-rounded IT background, with at least working knowledge of the following:
- Apache web server platforms
- Familiarity with IPv4/Internet addressing
- SSH and other remote access tools
- MySQL and/or Microsoft SQL database management and scripting
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to propose clear solutions based on business requirements
- Must be detailed oriented, have good organizational skills and be personally accountable
- Ability to identify and solve problems with sound judgment
Experience with of the following would be a plus:
- Customizing standard SugarCRM framework components
- Windows Server environments and MS-SQL
- Drupal, Joomla, WordPress
- SVN, FogBugz, Unfuddle
- GoldMine, Salesforce.com, NetSuite
